Senior Software Product Manager

Hi there, we’re Article. 👋 Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Senior Software Product Manager, you'll drive product development across Article’s digital platforms, including eCommerce systems, internal business applications, and data platforms.

*This is an on-site role requiring you to be in the office at our Vancouver HQ 3 days per week. Why We Need You:

This role requires a strong systems mindset and the ability to operate across multiple domains (i.e., you can see how everything connects), including customer-facing eCommerce platforms, internal operational systems, and the data platform that powers analytics and reporting. Many departments depend on those platforms, including eComm, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Customer Care, B2B Sales, and Physical Retail.

You'll partner closely with engineering teams, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define product strategy, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making.

As the business submits requests for work, your job will be to look at the whole picture, analyze, and decide how to prioritize each initiative. You’ll be exposed to the whole business, less of a specialist and more of a generalist.

Success in this role requires balancing business priorities, technical constraints, and cross-system dependencies while driving the delivery of complex initiatives across multiple teams. Why Article? As a Particle (people of Article), you will have a high level of autonomy to solve challenging, meaningful problems the best way you can. That means you’re trusted to explore solutions you believe will work best (you’re the expert, after all). You’ll do all this while growing your skills within a company that is redefining the furniture industry. About the Tech team: The Tech team as a whole is around 21 people. The Software Engineering and Product Management team makes up three-quarters of it.
They are a lean and senior team that services all the tech needs of Article.

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week. Department Tech Employment Type Permanent - Full Time Location Vancouver Address 1010 Raymur Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6A 3T2 Workplace type Hybrid Compensation $129,600 - $165,000 / year This role's hiring manager: Tahseen Ur Rehman Fida

What You’ll Do

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Define and maintain product strategy and roadmap across eCommerce platforms, internal business applications, and data platform initiatives. Translate business needs into structured product requirements that engineering teams can deliver. Align product initiatives with company goals, such as customer experience improvements, operational efficiency, and data capabilities.
  • eCommerce Platform Development Lead initiatives that improve the digital customer experience, including storefront, checkout, content management, personalization, and integrations with commerce systems. Partner with engineering and UX teams to deliver scalable and performant digital experiences. Support platform evolution, including headless and composable commerce architecture initiatives.
  • Internal Business Applications Drive product development for internal systems that support business operations such as merchandising, logistics, customer service, finance, and supply chain workflows. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and improved tooling. Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline internal processes and improve operational visibility.
  • Data Platform & Analytics Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to define initiatives for the company’s data platform. Help prioritize work related to data pipelines, data models, and analytical capabilities. Ensure business teams have access to reliable, well-structured data for reporting and decision making.
  • Planning & Prioritization Manage product backlogs and prioritize initiatives based on business value, technical feasibility, and team capacity. Lead roadmap planning discussions and support the development of business cases for new initiatives. Manage cross-project dependencies and trade-offs across multiple systems.
  • Execution & Delivery Work closely with Engineering Managers and development teams to ensure clear scope, milestones, and delivery expectations. Track initiative progress and communicate updates to stakeholders. Ensure successful product launches and monitor post-launch performance.
  • Stakeholder Management Partner with business teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product priorities. Communicate roadmap updates, delivery timelines, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Facilitate collaboration across engineering, product, analytics, and business teams.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of software product management experience.
  • Must have worked in retail/eCommerce, ideally also knowing supply chain, or logistics (especially with enterprise software supporting these domains — strong asset).
  • Experience in organizations undergoing tech debt reduction, legacy system migration, or platform re-architecture (highly desirable).
  • Skills: Proven ability to own and drive roadmap strategy and definition: able to synthesize competing priorities — technical debt, feature requests, business needs — into a clear, actionable roadmap aligned with company goals. Track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders and high technical ambiguity. Stakeholder management and influence; able to work with strong personalities, get alignment, negotiate trade-offs, and secure buy-in — often under pressure.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience working closely with engineering and operational teams. Experience using Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Completion of criminal background check.
