Job Summary :

This Software Developer role requires translating technical system specifications into functional, tested applications. Responsibilities encompass developing detailed programming specifications, writing and generating code, compiling data-driven programs, conducting unit tests, and resolving technical issues arising during software operation. The position demands strong collaboration with IT professionals throughout the software development lifecycle and experience across various programming languages, databases, and development methodologies. A hybrid work arrangement requires a minimum of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Responsibilities :

Develop detailed programming specifications.
Write and generate code.
Compile data-driven programs.
Conduct unit tests.
Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems during software use and operation.
Provide technical assistance in implementation, conversion, and migrations.
Design, code, test, debug, and document applications.
Use object and / or third-generation language development tools.
Work with relational and hierarchical database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
Use information retrieval packages using query languages.
Use one or more communications protocols.
Elicit and document information from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Review, analyze, and modify product installation scripts.
Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
Conduct design walkthrough sessions with project teams.
Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins.
Perform performance optimization (speed, caching, image optimization, code efficiency).
Secure WordPress installations against vulnerabilities.
Integrate REST APIs with third-party tools or services.
Implement WordPress solutions in Azure cloud stack.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals.
Develop code following development standards and design patterns.
Incorporate security requirements into design.
Conduct code reviews and unit testing.
Address defects and provide support to developers and end-users.
Work in an Agile development environment.
Provide comprehensive user and system documentation.
Contribute to risk and issue management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Promote industry standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Certifications :

Experience in programming and analysis.

Experience in structured methodologies for application development, design, implementation, and maintenance.

Experience in application design, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies.

Experience using information retrieval packages and query languages.

Experience with one or more communications protocols.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with IT professionals.

Experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.

Knowledge of Information Management principles.

Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts.

Knowledge of AI Chatbots and popular foundational models.

Knowledge of machine learning and data handling, and experience in AI frameworks.

Experience as a Senior Technical Consultant in large-scale enterprises.

Involvement in I&T transformation projects.

Preferred Skills & Certifications :

Understanding of the WordPress CMS, architecture, and customizations.

Strong front-end and back-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP).

Familiarity with MySQL and WordPress database interactions.

Experience in performance optimization.

Knowledge of securing WordPress installations.

REST API integration experience.

Experience implementing WordPress solutions in Azure cloud stack.

Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).

Special Considerations :

Hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Scheduling :

Hybrid schedule; on-site work required a minimum of 2-3 days per week at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
