Job description

Company Overview

Organic Connections is a family business based in Wainfleet Ontario. We import, manufacture and distribute quality herb and spice based products across North America to the ingredient, fine food and health food industries.

Position Purpose

To succeed, you will make high quality herb and spice products as required by our production work orders.

Your goals will be:

- Quality of the product (something you would feed your own family)

- Efficiency of production (making you proud of your accomplishments)

- Maintenance of quality standards of cleanliness and recordkeeping (so we have good food safety standards)

- Positive attitude and physical fitness (critical to this role)

Due to our rural location, it is a requirement to have reliable and consistent transportation on a daily basis. If you do not currently reside in Ontario and are not currently eligible to work here, please do not apply.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities

● Make finished goods per instructions. This will include working with packaging machines and by hand (with scoops and funnels).

● Qualified applicants will have the chance to run production machinery (when applicable) to assist in the speedy packaging of our raw materials.

● Be part of a team that takes ownership of quality products made to the standard of "I would feed this to my family". This will include doing quality checks on your co-workers work orders and being able to speak up when there are improvements to be made.

Additional Responsibilities

● Work a flexible schedule to include occasional overtime when needed

● Record all activities and weights with company-mandated record keeping system.

● Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

● High school diploma at a minimum is absolutely required.

● Strong detail orientation and excellent communication/listening skills.

● Computer literacy and familiarity with SAP would be an asset.

● Ability to pass background checks

● Demonstrated passion for excellence

● Strong decision making and analytic thinking abilities

● Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction

● Meet all attendance and dependability requirements

● Team player

● Ability to lift 50-60 pounds on a repetitive basis (but not all the time)

● This job is in a dusty environment due to the nature of operation. You need to be comfortable with getting dirty.

Business hours are 8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Some flexibility to these hours is mandatory on an occasional basis.

Benefits

You will start at $21.40/hr with a performance review after 3 months. We pay the Niagara Living Wage as our base wage.

After 1 year of continuous full-time employment, we provide an excellent health benefit program.
