The Hydro Distribution Engineer is also responsible for providing Engineering Support and Subject Matter Expertise to the Operations department (overhead and underground), Hydro Engineering Technologists, and other company employees. This includes performing manual calculations as well as using engineering software, ensuring all calculations are accurate and function as intended in the field. • Understanding of renewable energy integration, net metering and battery storage impacts on the grid is considered an asset.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings, provide technical support to field crews, and perform site inspections.
  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, condition assessments, and outage analysis to improve system reliability is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in computer systems and software implementation experience working with a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver verbal and written reports.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member or leader of a team.
