We’re looking for a hands-on full-time Mechanical Technologist to support the build, testing, and development of precision electro-mechanical systems. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. Join our team to work on innovative prototypes and high-reliability equipment in a dynamic, technical environment. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.
Base salary: $57,000 - $65,000 / year
Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Build products following established shop practices, mechanical drawings, and written or verbal instructions
- Assemble and perform testing on precision electro-mechanical prototypes and high-reliability products
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on production equipment
- Contribute feedback on design requirements and technical drawings
- Assist in developing specifications and procedural documentation
- Take responsibility for mechanical aspects of system and tooling construction
- Support the commissioning process for both prototype and production machinery
- Ensure a clean and safe workspace in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Key Skill Requirements:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong multi-tasker
- Experience in Microsoft applications, computer software and hardware
Key Experience/Education:
- 1-5 years of experience in tooling and mechanical equipment is preferred (Co-op experience accepted)
- Mechanical Technologist diploma or equivalent is required
- A mechanical aptitude with the ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials is required
- Knowledge of quality control tools are required
- Experience building and soldering wire assemblies is an asset
