RESPONSIBILITIES
The NPI Product Quality Senior Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Quality Planning for New Products with Early-Stage Risk Identification
- Define NPI quality strategy, deliverables, and timelines aligned with program milestones.
- Develop product quality plans, including control plans, inspection standards, and validation requirements.
- Lead PFMEA and DFMEA reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Identify potential failure modes early and drive preventive actions prior to mass production.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the quality interface between design engineering, manufacturing sites, and customer quality teams.
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are incorporated into NPI deliverables.
Supplier & Component Readiness
- Collaborate with SQE teams to ensure critical components, new suppliers, and subassemblies are qualified and stable.
- Address risks related to new materials or design changes.
Build Readiness & Line Preparation
- Oversee quality performance during EVT, DVT, and PVT builds.
- Ensure proper defect logging, categorization, containment, and resolution prior to mass production.
Validation & Reliability Testing, Issue Resolution
- Plan, coordinate, and review product validation and reliability test results.
- Ensure issues identified during reliability testing and validation builds are resolved through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate 5 Why and 8D investigations for defects during NPI builds.
- Ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions prior to product launch.
ORT Support (Ongoing Reliability Testing) & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure issues identified during reliability testing at manufacturing sites are resolved through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Drive closure of corrective and preventive actions, ensuring lessons learned are transferred and applied across sites and future product development.
- Ensure continuous improvement (CI) projects are implemented and completed on time to strengthen quality systems and prevent defects.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain complete documentation, including control plans, process flows, inspection standards, and PPAP/FAI packages (as applicable).
- Ensure traceability and adherence to QMS requirements throughout the NPI process.
Team Leadership
- Foster a culture of quality and accountability through training and coaching.
- Identify and develop future quality leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in NPI quality management, with familiarity in mechanical assembly and manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100), APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC).
- Experience managing strategic relationships with customer design and quality teams to establish quality controls for technology development roadmaps.
- Experience working in a global organization, with sensitivity to cultural and regulatory differences.
- Ability to travel internationally, as required.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 annually. In determining the rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role. Base salary is one facet of Amphenol's total rewards package which includes participation in our comprehensive benefits program with medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, short/long term disability, and membership in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan.
