Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst to lead and execute system testing and quality assurance efforts for a major public transit organization. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in testing complex applications and integrated systems especially within transit or public sector environments.Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and execution of testing strategies for enterprise-level transit systems.
Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements.
Conduct various types of testing:
Functional
Regression
Integration
Performance
Usability
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, and business analysts to ensure testability and alignment with requirements.
Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
Mentor junior QA team members on best practices, tools, and methodologies.
Automate test cases where applicable, using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or JMeter.
Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to ensure quality from the outset.
Continuously improve QA processes, standards, and tools.
Ensure all testing complies with public sector regulations and industry best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

7+ years of progressive experience in software/system testing or quality assurance.
5+ years leading QA efforts for complex, integrated systems.
Proven experience testing Transit Agency systems is essential.
Solid understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
Experience with systems supporting bus operations (dispatch, scheduling, fleet maintenance, fare collection, etc.) is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills

Defect tracking tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, TestRail
Automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress
Performance testing: JMeter (preferred)
Scripting/SQL knowledge for data validation (preferred)
Accessibility testing knowledge (asset)

Nice-to-Haves

ISTQB Certification (Foundation, Advanced, or Test Manager)
Experience with performance testing and accessibility compliance
Public sector experience, especially in the transportation domain
