Overview

Quality Inspector II will be responsible for preparing in-process and finished welded fittings for leak and hydrostatic testing, ensuring compliance with internal quality manuals and applicable industry codes & standards.

Key responsibilities include inspecting units for defects, accurately documenting results, and managing non-conforming products in accordance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain precise records to support the high standards of manufacturing excellence of Thermon.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently identify and prioritize tasks based on the production schedule.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections on various hydronic units and electric cores using standardized checklists and reporting tools.
  • Manage products with a strong focus on quality, including identifying and properly handling non-conforming items.
  • Accurately complete and maintain test reports and inspection records.
  • Safely operate a jib crane to carry out handling and positioning components during testing and inspection.

Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills

  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001 quality system requirements related to inspection processes and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of welding principles and weld defects is preferred
  • Minimal supervision and enjoy working with moderate level of direction.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Able to listen to directions and follow through.
  • Able to perform in a high-volume, results-focused work environment.
  • Able to quickly learn basic technical concepts and product applications.
  • High regard for safety.
  • Superior attention to detail and quality.
  • Superior verbal and written English communication skills.

Knowledge and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to use hand tools and powered tools.
  • Good hand and or eye coordination skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Good understanding of standard manufacturing processes.
