QA Automation Architect – API Automation

Location: Scarborough, ON (Hybrid)
Experience: 10+ Years

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Architect with strong expertise in API Automation, Quality Engineering, and enterprise automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will have experience in the eCommerce domain, CI/CD, QA governance, and modern testing strategies across web, mobile, data, and AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Define and implement QA architecture, automation frameworks, and testing standards.
Design scalable automation solutions for Web, Mobile, API, Data, and AI applications.
Develop API automation using Karate, Rest Assured, and Postman.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with a Shift-Left testing approach.
Drive quality governance, reporting, feedback loops, and automation best practices.
Lead Integration, Acceptance, Performance, and Security testing initiatives.
Mentor QA teams and promote Quality Engineering best practices.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.

Required Skills

10+ years of experience in API Automation.
Hands-on experience with Karate, Rest Assured, and Postman.
Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Spring Boot, ReactJS, NextJS, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS.
Experience with CI/CD, Shift-Left testing, and automation strategy.
Hands-on experience with Docker, ContainerD, Kubernetes (K8S/K3S).
Experience with Artifactory, GCR, ACR, and ECR.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka, and Pub/Sub.
Experience with ITIL v4 processes (Change, Incident, Problem, and Knowledge Management).
Knowledge of Miro, Diagrams.net, FigJam, and Mermaid.js.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years in QA Architecture/Automation Leadership.
Experience in the eCommerce domain.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
