Fondé par le professeur Yoshua Bengio de l’Université de Montréal, Mila rassemble des chercheurs spécialisés en intelligence artificielle et plus précisément en apprentissage automatique, apprentissage profond et apprentissage par renforcement. Reconnu mondialement pour ses importantes contributions au domaine de l’apprentissage profond, Mila s’est particulièrement distingué dans la modélisation du langage, la traduction automatique, la reconnaissance d’objets et les modèles génératifs. Votre rôle

Relevant du.de la Gestionnaire, Gouvernance de l'IA, la personne titulaire du poste sera le pivot opérationnel de l'équipe, assurant le maillage académique ainsi que la gestion logistique des événements et des projets. Ce rôle clé permet de faire rayonner l'écosystème de recherche en gouvernance de l'IA et de maximiser l'impact des initiatives de l'organisation.



Principales fonctions

  • Coordonner la planification, la logistique et le déploiement d'événements, assurant ainsi la visibilité des projets de l’équipe;
  • Établir, maintenir et animer le réseau de chercheurs.ses de Mila fortement investis dans l’IA responsable et sa gouvernance (assurer la gestion des canaux de communication, établir des connexions et soutenir les chercheurs dans la valorisation de leur travaux);
  • Formaliser des modèles d'engagement clairs pour impliquer et intégrer ces membres de la communauté de recherche dans les projets gouvernance de l’IA;
  • Collaborer activement avec les équipes internes afin de mettre en valeur et donner de la visibilité aux travaux de recherche en gouvernance de l'IA via le site Web, les infolettres, les mémos ou les événements internes;
  • Effectuer une veille stratégique en monitorant les différentes sources d’information en gouvernance de l’IA, en réalisant des revues de presse ou de littérature sectorielle, et en colligeant l’information pertinente pour nourrir l'équipe et la communauté;
  • Maintenir et organiser la base de données interne des connaissances en gouvernance de l’IA;
  • Documenter les apprentissages et discussions des rencontres de la communauté de pratique en gouvernance de l’IA;
  • Assurer la mise en forme graphique des supports de formation et des documents.

Requirements

  • Baccalauréat en administration, gestion de projets, communications, sciences politiques, affaires publiques ou dans un domaine connexe pertinent;
  • Un minimum de 2 à 3 ans d'expérience en coordination de projets, gestion d'événements ou animation de communautés (l'expérience en milieu universitaire, de recherche ou d'innovation est un fort atout);
  • Excellente maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit (milieu bilingue);
  • Sens de l'organisation hors pair, rigueur et capacité prouvée à gérer plusieurs dossiers de front, à prioriser les urgences et à mener à bien des événements logistiques complexes;
  • Grand entregent, diplomatie et aisance à interagir avec des parties prenantes de haut niveau (corps professoral, directions, partenaires externes);
  • Intérêt marqué pour l'intelligence artificielle, l'éthique de l'IA, les politiques publiques ou la gouvernance technologique;
  • Autonomie, esprit d'initiative développé, souci du détail (notamment pour la veille informationnelle) et capacité à travailler avec un minimum de supervision au quotidien;
  • Habileté à travailler en mode transversal avec différentes équipes internes.

Your role

Reporting to the AI Governance Manager, the person in this position will serve as the operational hub of the team, ensuring academic networking as well as the logistical management of events and projects. This key role helps promote the AI governance research ecosystem and maximize the impact of the organization's initiatives.

Core responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, logistics, and deployment of major events, thereby ensuring the visibility of the team's projects;
  • Establish, maintain, and engage the network of Mila research community members heavily invested in responsible AI and its governance (manage communication channels, build connections, and support researchers in promoting their work);
  • Formalize clear engagement models to involve and integrate these research community members into AI governance projects;
  • Collaborate actively with internal teams to highlight and provide visibility to AI governance research work through the website, newsletters, memos, or internal events;
  • Conduct strategic monitoring by tracking various information sources in AI governance, producing press reviews or industry literature reviews, and gathering relevant information to support the team and the community;
  • Maintain and organize the internal AI governance knowledge database;
  • Document findings and discussions from community of practice meetings in AI Governance;
  • Format and design training materials and documents.



Your profile and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, communications, political science, public affairs, or a relevant related field;
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, event management, or community engagement (experience in an academic, research, or innovation environment is a strong asset);
  • Excellent proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written (bilingual environment);
  • Outstanding organizational skills, rigor, and a proven ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, prioritize emergencies, and successfully deliver complex logistical events;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ease in interacting with high-level stakeholders (faculty members, executives, external partners);
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, AI ethics, public policy, or technological governance;
  • Autonomy, a strong sense of initiative, attention to detail (particularly for information monitoring), and the ability to work with minimal daily supervision;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various internal teams.
