Looking for someone to join our family in Scarborough, Ontario - we are in search of a compassionate and reliable elder care provider to support a home of two 90 year olds. This is a part time live-out position with possibility of it progressing to full-time care. Compensation is negotiable and dependent on skill sets; will be compensated fairly and a good fit is most important.
The home includes a married couple in their early 90’s - both are physically independent, and capable.
The husband is very hard of hearing, but otherwise mostly independent and loves to garden, go for walks, read and spend time on his computer.
The wife is recently struggling with mental capacity after a head injury; day to day tasks such as meal prep, groceries, laundry and cleaning can be overwhelming so we are looking for support for day-to-day tasks, to keep stress low and the environment safe.
The ideal candidate will provide part-time companionship and home care for our elderly family member, help with laundry, meal prep, cleaning, and plan a daily activity to create routine and purpose. Occasional support administering medication as needed, and assisting with personal care.
The ability to provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with our loved one is what’s most important to us. Additionally, experience in nursing care and providing personal care with empathy and professionalism is highly valued.
