The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the execution and oversight of large-scale electrical transmission projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with project objectives. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, financial acumen, and strong analytical skills to monitor, track, and report on project performance. This position is a hybrid position, working three days in office and two days from home office. The primary duties include : Scheduling and Project Planning : Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for transmission projectsPerform critical path analysis (CPA) and identify potential delays or scheduling risks, ensuring that all milestones and key deliverables are on trackIntegrate and update schedules with input from various teams (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction) to maintain a cohesive project timelineProvide schedule forecasts and conduct what-if scenarios to support project decision-makingTrack progress against the baseline schedule, highlighting any variances or changes, and prepare regular progress reports for project management and stakeholdersCost Control and Financial Management : Support project managers in establishing and tracking project budgets and cost estimates for transmission workUse Deltek Vantagepoint (or equivalent ERP (Enterprise Revenue System) SAP PS, SAP PPM, SAP FI / CO) to monitor, track, and report on actual and forecasted project costsReview project cost reports and compare actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, identifying any cost overruns or savings opportunitiesAnalyze financial performance data, including cost variance analysis, earned value management (EVM), and provide recommendations for corrective actionsWork closely with teams to ensure accurate cost coding, timely invoices, and financial reporting within the ERP systemProject Performance Monitoring : Provide ongoing analysis of project performance metrics, identifying issues related to both cost and scheduleMonitor project risks and changes and ensure they are reflected in the schedule and cost forecastsAssist with the development and implementation of corrective actions or mitigation strategies for any schedule or budget deviationsCoordinate with project teams to understand the root causes of variances and recommend solutions to keep projects on trackReporting and Documentation : Generate regular reports (e.g., weekly / monthly reports) on project status, including schedule updates, cost performance, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)Develop and present dashboard reports for senior management, highlighting project health in terms of schedule, budget, and riskMaintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including cost forecasts, schedule changes, and risk mitigation plansCollaboration and Communication : Collaborate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and scopeFacilitate communication across teams, providing visibility into potential project delays or budget issues and suggesting mitigation strategiesAttend project meetings (e.g., scheduling reviews, financial reviews, progress meetings) and provide status updates and analysisRisk and Change Management : Identify project risks related to both schedule and cost and contribute to the development of mitigation plansTrack changes in scope and ensure they are reflected in the cost and schedule forecastsSupport the change management process, ensuring that all scope changes are evaluated and documented properlyRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Controls Specialist or Project Controls AnalystMinimum of 2 years of scheduling experienceExperience with construction projects for power transmission, substations, or similar infrastructure sectorsAdvanced experience in using Primavera P6 or other project control tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, and / or DeltekExtensive experience with cost control and financial reporting to manage and track project costsFamiliarity with earned value management (EVM) techniques and cost forecastingKnowledge of industry standards and best practices for project controls, scheduling, and cost managementExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insightsStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProficiency with MS Office applicationsAbility to work independently, demonstrating accuracy, reliability, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsPMP (Project Management Professional), PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional), CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or equivalent certifications preferredProficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint (ERP)For California Only : this position's annual salary compensation range is approximately $90K -
