DarkVision is hiring a Financial Analyst to be based out of our head office in North Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role offers broad exposure across financial operations, reporting, and strategic projects that will support DarkVision’s rapid growth.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth financial operations while contributing valuable insights to drive business growth. You must be practical, detail-oriented, and excellent with Excel, with a strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to adapt to the changing business needs of a growing tech company. Furthermore, to succeed in this role, you’ll need to be personable and a great communicator, as you will be talking with external customers as well as various internal teams.

This is an entry-level position. No experience is required to apply. Candidates with one to two years of experience will also be considered.

Our Team

You will be a key part of our growing Finance team at DarkVision, a fast-growing tech company which is groundbreaking industry-disruptive products and entering new markets. As such, the work is fast-paced, interesting, and we promise you’ll never have a dull day!

What You Will Do

• Onboarding, Invoicing, and AR: You’ll be working directly with our customers and internal Ops and Sales teams to ensure that we have the most efficient, responsive, and customer-friendly processes from customer onboarding through to invoice payment. You will manage and process Accounts Receivable transactions, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation. With growing revenue, new products, and geographic expansion, this work will be highly visible and critical to the company.
• Management Reporting: You must be excellent with Excel and have a strong foundation in financial statements. Working with the Director of Finance, you’ll be helping to model our financial future using cutting-edge analytical tools.
• AI Implementation: We love AI. It makes routine work faster and more accurate, which frees up your time for value-added, interesting work that really matters to the business. You’ll have an open remit and full support to implement AI solutions in the processes you own, to make them faster, more scalable, and more accurate. We want you to grow into an AI-first finance professional.
• Special Projects: You’ll be involved with many special projects that will test and grow you. Whether it is implementing new processes or helping set up international entities, the business is fast-growing and there is no shortage of meaningful and challenging work.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Education/Experience: As this is an entry-level position, no previous experience is needed to apply. However, you must have an Accounting or Finance degree.
• Working On-site: You must be available to work from our North Vancouver office daily.
• Communication: You must be comfortable reaching out and connecting with staff across the organization as well as our external customers. Building strong working relationships across the organization will be important to your success in this role.
• MS Excel: Demonstrated advanced skills in Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, Macros, advanced functions).
• Attention to Detail: We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys keeping themselves and the people around them organized.

What Will Put You Ahead

• A/R and Financial Statement Preparation: Previous experience performing A/R and/or preparing Financial Statements is an asset
• AI Implementation: Previous examples of implementing or experimenting with AI tools for accounting/finance purposes.
• General Competence: At DarkVision, there is a very high bar for general all-around competence and the ability to get things done quickly, thoroughly, and effectively without compromising quality.
• Development: A natural curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and being receptive to coaching and constructive feedback are necessary characteristics for success in this role.
• Sense of Humor: We work hard but don’t take ourselves too seriously.

General Salary Range

For this role, we anticipate paying $50,000 to $75,000 per year.
