Thomas; Elgin County Catchment Area (Elgin Zone) AND London, Ontario (London Zone) Application Deadline: May 8, 2026 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a federal program committed to help young people gain employment information, skills and experience.

This program aims to support young people, particularly those from communities facing barriers to employment, as they transition into the labour market.

This position performs duties and responsibilities utilizing psychosocial rehabilitation principles and practices to maximize the recovery of individuals accessing services. Through a varied program of structured and unstructured activities, groups, educational opportunities as well as one to one approach, at times within a Hub model setting, this role helps individuals access the skills, support, and encouragement often required to find a sense of stability, wellness, and meaningful community engagement.

This role will provide safe, welcoming spaces for rapid engagement, access to information, and from which to explore outward into the community at large.

The Community Wellness Programs and Social Rehabilitation Canada Summer Jobs role offers community inclusion, service engagement, and wellness promotion through group facilitation and individualized support.

This role will collaborate with the Community Wellness and Social Rehabilitation teams in both London and Elgin County.

Consider making a difference in your community by joining our team! WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $17.60 per hour When you'll work - This position is 35 hours per week for approximately 8 weeks. Must be available to work shifts between the hours of 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Schedule will be Monday to Friday, but some after-hours, weekend or public holiday shifts may be required Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Using wellness approaches to recovery, develop and implement both group and individual programs that address the Social Determinants of Health to promote optimal health and well-being Facilitate programming that encourages the development of self-determination and the empowerment of the individuals Engage and develop relationships of trust with all community members Maintain healthy boundaries within the supportive, collaborative working relationship Facilitate social/support/life skills groups based on recovery and wellness principles for individuals in community Provide active, supportive listening and assistance with wellness planning Support the ongoing development and implementation of CMHA TVAMHS’s recovery college called, Thrive Institute, which may include participating in co-production activities, group facilitation, and other strategic planning initiatives Travel to various CWP and Social Rehabilitation sites throughout London and Elgin area to support group facilitation, program development, team engagement, etc.

Administration: Maintain daily activity records and compiles statistical and narrative reports on a timely basis as relevant Prepare program reports, expense reports, etc.

as required Develop promotional materials for programs, special events, etc.

Scheduling appropriate spaces required for activities as required Prepare meeting minutes as required Compile and submit relevant statistical information as per CMHA TVAMHS guidelines WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months.

Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 5 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

We require the following qualifications: Canada Summer Jobs requirements: Will be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

  • (Note: International students are not eligible.

Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.)
