Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, Healthcare Infrastructure, Build Nova Scotia, and working in a co-leadership model with the other Senior Directors and Senior Medical Director for Central Zone Healthcare Infrastructure projects, the Senior Director provides leadership and direction for all aspects of planning, procurement, delivery and facility activation for Build Nova Scotia Central Zone Healthcare Infrastructure projects.This Senior Director position is specifically responsible for a portfolio essential to project success: equipment planning and technology integration, operational readiness and facility activation, communications, and the development of the post-construction operating plan (PCOP). Responsibilities Accountable for the performance of Build Nova Scotia's Healthcare Infrastructure's Central Zone team responsible for equipment planning and technology integration, operational readiness and facility activation, communications, and the development of the post-construction operating plan (PCOP). This includes, but is not limited to, overall project and people management, with the Director(s) of the Central Zone Healthcare Infrastructure team reporting directly to this position.The Senior Director, Healthcare Infrastructure will support in Central Zone Healthcare Infrastructure Master Planning activities, working with Nova Scotia Health, the Department of Public Works, and the Department of Health and Wellness to help shape the future of healthcare infrastructure in the province.The Senior Director works in partnership with NSH Executive, NSH CZ Executive Directors (Operations & Medical), DHW, clinical and support service teams and other key stakeholders as required.The Senior Director provides leadership and direction, in collaboration with the project team and co-leads, in assessing and responding to the impact of a new design, new technologies and equipment and identifying opportunities to improve practices and processes within an academic health sciences center.In addition, the Senior Director is responsible for assessing and mitigating project risks and developing an operational readiness plan that will facilitate the delivery of safe quality care in new and renovated spaces, supporting by appropriate communications and PCOP funding.The Senior Director is also a liaison to Health Authority operations, Health Authority union partners, applicable Health Foundations and with educational partners in support of the Health Authority's academic mandate. Qualifications Master's degree in a related health discipline, business administration or health administration, with significant experience in healthcare management/leadership (preferably in a tertiary academic health sciences centre).· Seven (7) years to ten (10) years of senior leadership experience with accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management· The following would be considered an asset to the above two requirements:o Experience working in acute clinical services and the health systemo Experience with the planning and/or delivery of large-scale hospital redevelopmento Formal project management certificationo Formal change management certificationo Certified Health Executive (CHE) Certification· Excellent leadership, relationship-building, organizational and decision-making skills· Experience with strategic planning, leading complex change and providing progressive and innovative approaches to service delivery and program challenges· Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs· Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of internal and external stakeholders· Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of stakeholders supported by an acute awareness of the impact of action· Demonstrated project management, process re-engineering and organizational skills· Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and with changing priorities and deadlines Skills Healthcare, Infrastructure, LeadershipArray About Build Nova Scotia Healthcare Infrastructure Division Build Nova Scotia Healthcare Infrastructure Division is committed to delivering an extensive, multi-site, multi-year infrastructure Redevelopment Plan designed to ensure the health care needs of Nova Scotians are met for the next 50 years.The redevelopment plan includes major expansions and additions to hospitals and health services in communities across the Province, including throughout the Halifax and Cape Breton Regional Municipalities.
