Job Title: Senior Production Technician

This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician with experience in defence, aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or other high-assurance production environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, integrating, testing, modifying, and inspecting secure electronic and electro-mechanical systems while maintaining strict quality, security, and configuration control standards.This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced secure systems, support critical defence-related projects, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality products that meet rigorous customer and industry requirements.The Role: Senior Production Technician

• Build, integrate, modify, and inspect secure IPC, server, rack, and electro-mechanical systems according to engineering drawings, build instructions, and project specifications.
• Apply secure system build practices, including cable routing, grounding, bonding, shielding, and configuration management controls.
• Maintain strict adherence to approved build configurations and ensure no unauthorized modifications are made to hardware, firmware, or system components.
• Support product qualification activities, customer witness testing, and corrective action investigations related to quality and compliance requirements.
• Handle controlled goods and technical documentation in accordance with applicable security and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records including component traceability, serial numbers, test documentation, and build history.
• Build and test systems to customer-specific environmental and electromagnetic requirements.
• Manufacture and modify cable assemblies using approved methods, tools, and workmanship standards.
• Perform crimping, soldering, wiring, connector termination, and harness routing activities.
• Inspect and verify completed work performed by Production Technicians to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete functional testing and troubleshoot system, hardware, and configuration issues.
• Diagnose and repair returned products, perform root cause analysis, and complete warranty and RMA investigations.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet customer, quality, and compliance standards.
• Utilize calibrated tools and test equipment while maintaining accurate test evidence and records.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a production, manufacturing, electronics, defence, aerospace, or similar high-assurance environment.
• Experience assembling and testing IPCs, servers, rack-mounted systems, or comparable electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Strong experience with cable assembly, crimping, soldering, wiring, and connector termination.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, assembly instructions, and test specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills utilizing electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Experience performing inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Excellent configuration control and documentation practices, including serial traceability and test record management.
• Solid knowledge of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware installation, and hardware diagnostics.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow controlled work instructions without deviation.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 certification.
• Experience working within Defence, Aerospace, Secure Communications, C4ISR, or Rugged Computing environments.
• Exposure to EMC/EMI testing, environmental qualification testing, customer witness testing, or first article inspections.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and configuration management principles.
• Understanding of secure system build methodologies, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and controlled cable routing practices.
• Knowledge of Controlled Goods Program requirements and defence industry compliance standards.
• Relevant technical education in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
