Overview
Berkeley Payment Solutions is looking for a high-impact, strategic leader to serve as our Director, Project Management. This isn't just an implementation role; it is the "Command Center" for all execution at Berkeley.
We are seeking a candidate who can master a dual-track portfolio: managing a high-volume client onboarding engine (~20 active projects at any time) while simultaneously leading critical internal transformations, such as our FIS Migration and AI-driven operational initiatives. If you are a technical project leader who thrives at the intersection of commercial delivery and operational excellence, we want to hear from you.
As the Director of Project Management, you are the single accountable executive for the delivery of every project across the organization. You will lead a high-performing team of Implementation Managers and Project Managers, shifting the culture toward accountable project governance and predictability.
Key Responsibilities include:
Total Portfolio Ownership: Manage the health and delivery of all Berkeley projects, providing a "Single Source of Truth" for executive leadership.
Strategic Internal Projects: Directly oversee complex transformations, including migrating off FIS and deploying AI initiatives such as automated support ticket categorization and AI-driven search tools.
Technical Implementation: Maintain a hands-on approach to configuring payment rails, card programs, and API integrations to meet partner requirements.
Bank & Partner Integration: Own the relationships with Issuing Banks, streamlining the program submission process and bank onboarding workflows.
Governance & RACI: Enforce the organization’s RACI framework and the Cat 1/2/3 Solutioning Model to protect product and engineering capacity.
Operational Excellence: Own the Time-to-Revenue (TTR) metric and enforce the mandatory Funds Protection Sign-Off gate for all go-lives
Requirements
Experience: 10+ years of project management or client onboarding leadership within FinTech, payments, or financial services.
Strategic Delivery: Proven track record of leading large-scale technical migrations (e.g., core processor migrations) and innovation projects.
Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of API-based integrations, payment rails, and managing technical deliverables within an engineering environment.
Leadership: Strong ability to mentor and scale a team of Project Managers and Implementation leads.
Process Mastery: Expert-level command of project management tools (Jira/Confluence) and frameworks (PMP or equivalent certification is an asset).
Relationship Management: Exceptional skills in navigating complex stakeholder environments, including bank partners, technical vendors, and executive teams.
Benefits
Strategic Impact: As the Project Command Center, you will directly shape the operational future and scalability of a FinTech leader.
High-Growth Environment: Lead a team responsible for Berkeley's most critical strategic metrics, including Net Revenue Retention and Total Processing Volume.
Collaborative Culture: Work in a hybrid environment that fosters accountability, professional development, and cross-functional results.
Innovation: Take the lead on cutting-edge AI initiatives that are transforming how we support our clients and cardholders.
