About the Role

The Server reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate andperforms all aspects of service in the dining room, resident lounges and roomservice for residents, guests, and the public. The Server provides quality customerservice to all persons served as relates to the culinary experience at ourcommunities.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

• Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing andmaintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen theorganizational culture and purpose.
• Prepares dining room for all services which includes; settingtables, stocking necessary items, assisting the preparation, presentation and servingof food and beverages.
• Carries out general cleaning duties in the dining roomwhich includes; clearing and bussing tables, scrapping and at times washingdishes while following the company’s Infection Protection and Controlguidelines.
• Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive topleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the happiness,self-respect, general dignity and physical safety of each resident.
• Promote and maintain positive communication andrelationships among staff, residents and the public.
• Responsible for some or all tasks related tohousekeeping and laundry duties as required.
• Attendsand participates in community and education programs.
• Respondsto resident and building emergencies.
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education,training and experience.
• 1-2 year’s experience in a dining room environment anasset.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
• Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
• WHMIS Certificate.
• All successful applicants must pass the vulnerablesector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficientlyand understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to operate related food service equipment.
• Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry upto 30 lbs. Must be able to work with cleaners, detergents and other cleaningequipment.
