Reporting to the Senior Manager of Standards and Methodologies – First & Last Mile, the Process Specialist II role is responsible for leading process and performance excellence programs within the First and Last Mile operations umbrella.

The Process Specialist partners closely with dock and on‑road leaders to turn SOPs into practical, trainable methods and to build standards that stick. You’ll conduct MOST‑based time studies, design standard work and Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs), and help teams adopt better routines, tools, and planning practices. If you have strong operations experience and can translate frontline realities into scalable standards, this role will give you the platform to drive measurable improvement across the network.

Responsiblities:

Short‑Term (Immediate Priorities)

Standards & Training Enablement

• Convert SOPs into Practical Methods and TWI‑style Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs) with clear key points and reasons (dock & on‑road).
• Facilitate and support dock training, coach trainers/supervisors on JI delivery, and monitor early adoption.
• Produce instructional videos for the TWP program (dock & on‑road) and build accompanying micro‑learning/job aids.

Field Toolsets & Digitization

• Improve field toolsets via active field engagements; gather VOC, simplify forms, and remove non‑value steps (dock & on‑road).
• Digitize paper checks/processes (safety, quality, PM checks, audits), define data fields, and set up clean hand‑offs to reporting.

Program Support

• Support DDWP (Daily Digital Work Plan - manager routine) rollout (dock): readiness checks, playbooks, briefings, and early‑life stabilization.
• Track and communicate status, risks, and actions across stakeholders; manage defects/backlog and UAT for method/tool changes.

Long Term

Method Engineering & Time Studies

• Plan and execute MOST/PMTS time studies (e.g., BasicMOST/MiniMOST as applicable); establish standard data and validate through field pilots (dock & on‑road).
• Analyze cycle times, walk patterns, and handling motions; recommend practical method changes to reduce variation, waste, and ergonomic risk.

Governance & Sustainment

• Build governance for Standards, Methods, and JIBs (dock & on‑road): ownership, change control, versioning, and audit cadence.
• Define stability metrics (adherence, variation, retrain rates) and integrate into site reviews/scorecards.

Planning and Automation

• Automate/streamline AM/PM planning routines (dock): design evolution of labour planning (DOPs) that adjust with staffing and volume; reduce manual touches and improve plan quality.

Field Service Engineering Ecosystem (FSE)

• Recommend standard tasks, tools, and processes for FSE; clarify interfaces with Ops/Engineering.
• On‑Road Portfolio & Scorecards
• Build the on‑road Standards & Methods portfolio, define delivery strategy (sequencing, training approach), and develop scorecards that link method adherence to safety, service, and cost.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a high availability Transportation/Supply Chain/Network Logistics operation.
• Experience within the Courier First and Last Mile considered an asset
• Have MOST certification or willing to be certified and experience in time and motion studies
• Experience with transportation processes and standard operating procedures

• Strong written and oral communications skills. Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
• Knowledge in MS applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience with UAT

Education:

• Degree in Industrial Engineering/BS degree in Engineering graduate considered an asset
