Our team provides specialty advisory services to help multinational and mid-market companies across various industries carry their innovation and research and development vision by benefiting from the SR&ED program and other incentives available through various federal and provincial programs.

KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join its GVA Tax Incentives team.

  • Prepare and review tax schedules related to claims.
  • Communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and relevant provincial ministries to address and resolve client matters.
  • Refer to SR&ED court cases, CRA policies, and guidelines to support claim positions.
  • Conduct research on client issues arising from compliance or planning activities.
  • Acquire industry-specific knowledge and develop specialized skills to better serve clients.
  • Expand understanding of industry-specific grant applications and funding programs.
  • Take on additional tasks or assignments as required.
  • Act as an Engagement Manager or lead the financial aspects of specific client files.
  • Participate in internal meetings to help coordinate workflows for the SR&ED team.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Expertise in MS Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of current accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Experience working with clients across all levels of management.
  • Self-driven, organized, and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Focus on achieving team and personal goals.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Dedication to teamwork, client service, and high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of corporate tax processes is advantageous.
  • 2+ years' of experience with the Canadian SR&ED program is an asset and any experience with government assistance programs would be an asset
  • A CPA designation or In-depth tax courses is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong focus and attention to detail when working with data.
  • Limited travel required, except during high-demand periods for client deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a national team.
  • KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
