What would you do?

Our Senior Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python based API services and PHP-based applications.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining scalable web applications, enhancing system performance and ensuring security and performance across distributed systems.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience as a full stack developer with a deep understanding of designing and implementing microservices architectures.

Primary Responsibilities : Develop, maintain, and optimize Python based API services and PHP-based applications Architect and implement microservices using Docker and containerized environments Work with Vanilla PHP and MVC frameworks like Zend / Laravel to build and maintain scalable web applications Enhance system performance using caching mechanisms (REDIS / ElastiCache) for optimized data access Utilize ElasticSearch for time-series data processing, fast search capabilities, and writing queries and aggregations Implement message queues for efficient asynchronous processing Develop interactive user interfaces using JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap Ensure security, scalability, and performance of applications across distributed systems Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the stack Knowledge and Experience : 5+ years of professional experience as a Full stack Developer Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI / FlaskApi) and PHP (Vanilla PHP & MVC frameworks like Zend, Laravel,or CodeIgniter) Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures Proficiency in Docker and container orchestration Knowledge of caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached, ElastiCache) Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch for search and analytics Experience working with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) Strong frontend skills with Vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap Expertise in Python Celery for distributed task processing Expertise in WebSockets for real-time communication Experience with implementing SAML IDP integration with JIT Understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, and security best practices Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases Work onsite a minimum of 2x per week in our Ottawa office What do you get from us?   At Opti9, we believe work should be more than just a job—it should be a place where you feel valued, supported, and excited to grow.
