Job description
A well-established and growing manufacturing organization within a high-volume production environment in the plastics extrusion space is currently seeking a Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) to join their maintenance team.

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic plant where reliability, continuous improvement, and hands-on troubleshooting are critical to operational success. The role offers exposure to a mix of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a fast-paced facility.

Location: Woodbridge, ON

Pay Rate: $42-46/hr

Shift: Straight Afternoons

Responsibilities
Maintenance Execution: Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment, extrusion lines, utilities, and production systems.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.

Inspections: Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and operational checks on machinery and facility systems.

Technical Literacy: Interpret and work from mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.

Installation & Upgrades: Support the installation, leveling, and alignment of new machinery, as well as modifications and upgrades of existing production lines.

Reliability: Collaborate with maintenance leadership to improve PM programs and equipment reliability through root cause analysis.

Optimization: Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for mechanical process optimization and efficiency gains.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records in the CMMS, including repairs, inspections, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) logs.

Shutdown Support: Lead mechanical inspections and maintenance execution during planned plant shutdowns.

Safety First: Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications
Certification: Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Millwright License (Required).

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (Plastics/Extrusion experience is a plus).

Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.

Practical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with precision alignment, welding/fabrication, and troubleshooting power transmission systems (gearboxes, bearings, conveyors).

Safety Mindset: Solid understanding of industrial safety regulations, machine guarding, and LOTO standards.

Tool Proficiency: Experience using diagnostic tools (vibration analysis, laser alignment), calibration equipment, and various power/hand tools.

Digital Literacy: Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation practices.

Aptitude: Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure, high-volume production environments.
