Job descriptionResponsible for planning, designing, composing, evaluating, advising, or reporting on any activity that requires the application of engineering principles. Maintain instructions and procedures up to date, prepare reports, and review proposals from external organizations. Participate in training programs as required. Prepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids, and technical submissions. Perform any required inspections for the procurement of material. Responsible for the specification sizing of equipment and the interconnection to ensure satisfactory process performance. Prepare & maintain Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). Guide junior engineers and technical staff assigned to a common task. Develop datasheets / technical specifications of process equipment. Support the general arrangement of the process. Validate subcontractors’ documents and create start‑up notes and O&M manuals. Use initiative and judgment in resolving problems, interpret engineering specifications, obtain and analyze data, and design. Develop effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and associates for design problem discussion and project control criteria. Solve problems using combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments. Conduct independent studies and analysis, making interpretations and typical decisions. Working experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an EPC environment, particularly on nuclear, power, or utilities projects, or those related to Bruce Power. University graduate in Mechanical Engineering. Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario. 5+ years of related working experience in a design consulting environment. Must be capable of using flow analysis and pipe stress analysis software. Specific knowledge in piping, and specifically alloyed piping in terms of definition, specification, calculation, sourcing, prefabrication, and assembly.
Hiring Mechanical Engineers (Must Have skillset : Mechanical / Mechanical Design Engineer, P.Eng (PEO), Nuclear Power Plant experience, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Engineering Change Control (ECC), and OPG / BP Security Clearance) .
