JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Mechanical Technician - Millwright.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Maintenance. The role involves working on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, and components. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems. Additionally, the role includes working with pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, presses, generators, and both pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Uses machine tools such as lathes and milling machines and fabrication tools such as welders, breaks, presses, power threaders and punches
- Uses precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers and precision and optical levels
- Uses testing equipment such as vibration analysis as well as other techniques used in predictive and preventive maintenance
- Installs, maintains and services compressed air, water and exhaust ducting to robotics, pumps, presses, compressors, turbines, material-handling systems, gearboxes and other machinery.

EDUCATION
- Have a minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a valid Certificate of Qualification (433A or 426A)
- Crane Mechanic experience would be an asset
- Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts (weekends/holidays)
- Eligible to work in Canada and Canadian equivalency for foreign education, if applicable
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; tech/computer comfortable; self-starter
- Safety/environmental compliance focus; Health and Safety experience an asset
- Technical: documentation/records, interpret drawings/manuals/tools, troubleshoot
- Radiation/contamination control knowledge; pass Radiation Protection training/exams
- Physical: heights/harness, confined spaces, hot/cold; lift 50 lb; forklift/elevated work platforms; valid Ontario G license is an asset
