Job descriptionProven experience as a building material estimator or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards. Proficiency in using estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.). Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred but not required. Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses. Job Description
Job Summary :
The Outside Building Material Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the quantities and costs of materials needed for construction projects. This role involves working closely with customers, sales teams, and suppliers to provide precise and competitive estimates. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction materials, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct on-site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to understand project specifications.
- Prepare detailed and accurate material take-offs and cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and present estimates.
- Review and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing and availability of materials.
- Provide support to the sales team in preparing bids and proposals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
