Job description

Welcome to Cascades!

If you're passionate about sustainability and enjoy helping organizations improve their environmental performance, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact every day. You'll work closely with clients, operations, and sales teams to advance recycling programs, increase material recovery, and support sustainability initiatives. Join a collaborative environment where your expertise can contribute to meaningful environmental results.
Join JASON GALE's team as a Sustainable Development Advisor in Saint-Hubert and help build a more sustainable future.

What’s in it for you

Taking care of our people is in our nature - so you’ll enjoy:

  • Annual salary between $70,000 and $75,000 CAD
  • Profit sharing and an employee share purchase plan
  • A hybrid work model: 3 days in the office (2 fixed + 1 flexible)
  • A full range of benefits: group insurance, telemedicine, and an employer-supported retirement plan
  • An annual allowance to spend on goods and services of your choice
  • A yearly wellness program and employee assistance program
  • A collaborative, respectful, and people-centered workplace

Your Role

As Sustainable Development Advisor, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential.
Your scope includes:

  • Coordinating and maintaining recycling programs for national and local clients to improve quality and increase waste diversion.
  • Conducting waste and recycling assessments to identify opportunities for greater material recovery and support business development activities.
  • Supporting clients through site assessments, training sessions, quarterly reporting, and ongoing sustainability services.
  • Planning and conducting waste audits and supporting the development and implementation of waste reduction action plans.
  • Managing non-conformance issues and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with operations teams.
  • Preparing diversion reports and supporting Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams while monitoring recycling legislation, emerging sustainability trends, and contract compliance through material audits.

What you bring

You're a natural fit for Sustainable Development Advisor if you have:

  • A college or university degree in environmental studies, sustainable development, or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience in the recycling industry and Certified Waste Auditor certification are assets.
  • Knowledge of sustainability certifications such as LEED, BOMA Best, and similar programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, and Copilot.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Access to a vehicle, willingness to travel approximately 10% to Ottawa, Ontario, and fluency in both English and French.

If you bring the same care to who you are as to what you do, we’d love to meet you!

Apply now and join our team as Sustainable Development Advisor in Saint-Hubert.

Cascades values diversity and inclusion and considers all applications equitably.
