Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON within the automotive and parts manufacturing sector. This role is ideal for a hands-on assembler with strong custom machine building experience, excellent blueprint reading skills, and the ability to produce high-quality mechanical assemblies within tight deadlines.
The Mechanical Assembler will work in a fast-paced production environment focused on precision, teamwork, and on-time delivery. This is a strong opportunity for someone who values stable work, supportive supervision, clear expectations, and collaboration with engineering and shop floor teams. The right candidate will take pride in building quality machinery and equipment while contributing to a safe, organized, and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble machinery, equipment, tooling, sub-assemblies, and main machine assemblies using blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
- Operate hand tools, portable power tools, measuring tools, forklifts, and cranes safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues, identify problems, and communicate required changes or concerns to supervisors and engineering.
- Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Plan daily work, maintain an organized work area, complete labour sheets, and achieve daily assembly targets and milestone deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including PPE use, pre-use inspections, lockout procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $47,840 to $49,920 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Scarborough, ON.
