Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities & Construction

Location: Onsite, Calgary, AB (#400, 229 - 33rd Street NE Calgary, Alberta T2A 4Y6)

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE:

We are currently hiring for a Field Food Service Manager to join our Western Canada team. Reporting to the Director, Merchandising and Marketing, Western Canada, the Field Food Service Manager will lead and develop improved food execution and performance for an assigned geography. Responsible for leading the team of Food Service Specialists. The Field Food Service Manager will serve as a strategic thinker who will take full responsibility for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, food safety and completion of food-related projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. The Field Food Service Manager supports the company goals by leading the coordination of efforts needed to realize the full potential of the Circle K brand.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• (Primary daily function) Perform Preventative Maintenance on Frozen Beverage units.
• Maintains equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Maintains facilities by performing light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, cleaning, lighting work.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• Ensures preventative repairs are performed cost effectively by examining records, reports operating practices and other documentation.
• Participate in training classes for existing and new equipment.
• Ensures maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operation policies and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by abiding to safety policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience in C-store Preventative Maintenance, food service repairs, plumbing or HVAC/refrigeration preferred.

Knowledge and skills:

• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be insurable as a driver.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and ability to work independently.
• Highly organized and work well under pressure/deadlines with the ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to crouch, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop and/or reach.
• Ability to carry, erect and climb ladders.
• Ability to lift as much as 80 pounds.
