The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
At Alexander Elementary, our mission is to work as a team, recognize all our students’ needs and individuality, set high expectations, consistently care for and respect ourselves, our colleagues, our students and their parents, so that our students achieve their personal best at Alexander Elementary School.
The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design an environment and programming conducive to engaging children and their families. They should have a breadth of knowledge and experience in the areas of social emotional learning, trauma informed practice, differentiated instruction, and familiar with technology used to support students.
The successful candidate may be required to complete LSS Essentials , a series of 3 workshops facilitated by the LSS Department.
Education & Experience
- Major / minor or diploma in Inclusive Education (aka Special Education)
- Practicum and / or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Elementary level
- Case management experience required
- Training and experience with Level B Assessments ( ie . KBIT2 / KTEA III)
- Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification
- Eligible for B.C. Certification
- Satisfactory teacher evaluation and / or final practicum report
