Job description

Overview

Our client is looking for a Jira Web Developer to join their team.

You will be responsible for building out custom JIRA dashboards for their Production Support Team, along with other Web development projects.

You will collaborate with all teams to ensure targeted departmental and company objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will have a strong I.T. background and interest, a high level of diplomacy, be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and demonstrate an effective, proactive solution-based approach.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Using the JIRA REST APIs, build out custom dashboards for our Production Support Team.
  • Maintain, expand, and enhance existing company websites
  • Write well-designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices
  • Create website layout / user interface by using standard practices
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
  • Design, develop and test database structures and procedures associated with business applications as well as web applications
  • Fix bugs in existing projects
  • Test new website features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct tasks in all cases
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to meet the needs of the business and ensure that necessary changes are made to facilitate business growth
  • Stay up-to-date with current and emerging standards and trends in web development

Qualifications :

  • Strong knowledge of JIRA, and building custom dashboards through the JIRA REST APIs.
  • Excellent knowledge of one or more languages including Ruby, GoLang, or PHP
  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Understanding of WordPress as an asset
  • Experience with front-end JavaScript libraries and frameworks like React and VueJS would be an asset
  • Proficiency with Git version control system
  • Experience with the design, management, development, and maintenance of RDMS like MySQL and MS SQL Server
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes, and technologies in order to maintain systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of mobile web development standards
  • Proficient in : Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook
  • Computer Science degree
  • 3+ years of Web Development / Design experience
  • Strong communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and negotiating skills with demonstrated experience building strong relationships and partnerships
  • Good judgment to solve problems and make decisions proactively, and independently
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a balance of priorities
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills with an attention to detail are essential
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to multi-task and be flexible to take on varied
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion and can be entrusted with confidential information
