Job description

The Big Picture: Build Your Future with a Company on the Rise

Insight Pest Solutions is one of the fastest growing residential home service companies in Canada, and we’re just getting started. With that growth comes real opportunity for driven, self motivated individuals who want more than just a job.

We’re looking for people ready to grow their careers alongside a company expanding across the country and into new markets.

As a Seasonal Junior Technician, you’re not just providing a service, you’re building trust. You’re the face of the company in our customers’ homes, delivering expertise, professionalism, and peace of mind. From identifying pest issues to recommending effective solutions, your work ensures homeowners feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.

We’re a company that’s always evolving. Through ongoing research and development, we continue to advance environmentally conscious products, safer methodologies, and smarter service delivery. Our seasonal prevention and home-maintenance programs help protect homes from mosquitoes, ants, wasps, ticks, spiders, and mice, and we’re constantly raising the bar on what great service looks like.

Ever wanted to spend a summer by the ocean while getting paid?

Insight Pest Solutions is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Junior Technicians in Halifax.

This is a great opportunity to build valuable work experience, earn great money, and spend your summer working in one of Canada’s most vibrant coastal cities. From the Halifax waterfront to the surrounding communities, you’ll be working outdoors, meeting new people, solving problems, and gaining hands-on experience in a growing industry.

Whether you're looking to develop new skills, enjoy a dynamic summer job, or explore the East Coast while working full-time, this role offers a unique opportunity to do all three.

Position: Junior Technician

Location: Halifax, NS

Job Type: Full time, Seasonal (End Date: August 31, 2026, with potential for extension)

Schedule: 9:00am - 5:00pm AST (Monday - Friday); Approximately 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities

What You'll Do

  • Perform interior and exterior pest inspections for residential customers
  • Identify pests, entry points, and potential infestations
  • Apply appropriate treatments for pests and rodents
  • Complete service reports for work performed and products used
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer customer inquiries
  • Recommend solutions to resolve customer concerns
  • Maintain strong customer relationships while representing the company professionally

Why Join Insight Pest Solutions?

  • Competitive wage
  • Company vehicle and gas card provided
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance)
  • Consistent daily routes with short drive times between locations
  • Full-time hours with opportunities for overtime
  • Commission on new business and bonuses on completed work
  • No cockroaches, bed bugs, or ladder work
  • Opportunities for growth within the company — we love promoting from within
  • Positive, energetic team culture

Plus, you’ll spend the summer working in Halifax — a city known for its ocean views, vibrant waterfront, and incredible East Coast culture.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of equipment
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments including crawl spaces and dusty areas
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as walking, crouching, balancing, and reaching

What We’re Looking For

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Reliable with strong communication skills
  • Someone who takes pride in their work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build customer relationships
  • Quick thinker who enjoys problem-solving

We will support you in obtaining your Structural Pesticide Applicator License, including training materials, study support, and assistance registering for the exam.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be 21 years or older to operate a company vehicle
  • Interest in pest control or learning a skilled trade

Important: Prior to starting, successful candidates must complete their licensing exam and required training.

If you're looking for a summer job that combines great pay, hands-on experience, and the chance to work in one of Canada’s most beautiful coastal cities, we’d love to hear from you.
