Position SummaryAre you an experienced accounting professional with strong bookkeeping expertise and a knack for organization and team support? As an Accounting Manager at IDL, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions and helping ensure the smooth operation of the finance team.
Reporting to the Controller, this role is hands-on and requires someone comfortable with full-cycle accounting, while also assisting in coordinating activities across Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Job Cost. You’ll act as a key support to the Controller and a go-to resource for the team, helping maintain accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across processes.
Responsibilities- Perform and oversee full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, job cost and commitment tracking, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance, support, and review of work completed by junior team members.
- Help identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency within the accounting function.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational and financial processes.
- Assist with audits
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of full-cycle accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience supporting multiple accounting functions (AP, AR, reporting, etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPA designation is considered an asset but not required.
