Your Role: Solution Architect – SOA Integrations

As a Solution Architect – SOA Integrations, you will analyze business needs across various sectors and lead the evolution of integration solutions in line with Metro’s strategic IT directions. The SOA architecture under your responsibility supports critical business processes across all Metro divisions and subsidiaries.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure sustainable, scalable, and efficient integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy SOA development tools supporting integration teams.

  • Conduct preliminary and detailed business needs analysis, assess impacts, and recommend actionable solutions aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Act as a technical reference and mentor for SOA team members and integration-related centers of excellence.

  • Analyze requirements for SOA tool evolution based on internal client goals and IT strategic directions.

  • Conduct technology watch activities to evaluate emerging solutions and best practices in areas such as information architecture and cloud computing.

  • Maintain and update SOA architecture documentation in collaboration with the team.

  • Contribute to the deployment and implementation strategy, including communication plans and stakeholder engagement.

  • Participate in ad hoc projects and change requests through to production, including user acceptance testing and post-deployment support.

  • Lead quality control activities for data processing and integration solutions, including test planning, coordination, execution, and documentation.

  • Provide expert support to internal business units for the use and configuration of various integration tools.

  • Participate in business process reengineering, implementation planning, issue resolution, and communication preparation.

  • Harmonize processes and data across systems while adhering to existing methods, standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintain strong relationships with application development directors, internal IT specialists, and external consultants.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 7–10 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Functional Analyst

  • Strong background in system integration and deployment projects

  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing web services and network architecture

  • Experience with one or more integration platforms such as:

    • SAP PO/PI, SAP CPI, SAP Integration Suite

    • Apache NiFi, Wso2, MuleSoft, IBM ESB

  • Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite modules (Cloud Integration, API Management, Open Connectors, Event Mesh)

  • Solid understanding of security standards: SSL, OAuth, SAML, JWT, SSH

  • Knowledge of XSLT, SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, OData, IDoc, JSON, XML

  • Experience with Java, Groovy, JavaScript, or Python (an asset)

  • Exposure to platforms such as Kafka, MQ, DB2, Graylog, SAP (an asset)

  • Knowledge of the retail and/or logistics industries is a strong asset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset (the role involves interactions with English-speaking partners and vendors)

  • Ability to travel occasionally to Metro sites (Terrebonne, Montreal, Varennes, Ontario)
