Job Summary :

• The Senior Project Manager will report to the Director, 1GX Strategic and Operational Excellence.
• Responsible for coordination and completion of IT projects related to the 1GX system, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring project progress.
• Builds and maintains relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
• Prepares reports for upper management regarding the project status and facilitates the decision-making process of executive management.
• Experience in managing a Complex Human Resources Information System (HRIS) project(s) and documenting briefing notes or similar project status reports to the Executive Steering Committees at Ministerial level.
• Responsible for compiling project charters and business / project plans, managing project resources and governance, and developing project schedule plans and strategies.
• Works with project sponsors to ensure effective project communication and satisfaction, and collaborates with business and IT leadership to develop a well-defined project plan.
• Provides guidance to project resources in establishing work priorities and ensures prompt delivery of project tasks.
• Responsible for documenting and reporting project status against established objectives, milestones, budget and resources.
• Provides leadership and assistance to business and project teams that require change management and communication support.
• Equipment requirements include own computer and related equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access.
• Working hours are standard Alberta time, Monday through Friday, with a requirement to work within Canada due to network and data security issues.
• Mandatory training courses to be completed include Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training.
• The role was previously filled by a contractor, but the Ministry seeks the best person to fill the role.
• A background check will be required prior to commencement of the Services.
