Job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team at Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Cranbrook, BC. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service. This role offers an opportunity to showcase culinary skills, work collaboratively with kitchen staff, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures at all times
  • Ensure timely delivery of dishes to meet service expectations
  • Support other kitchen staff during busy periods and special events
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food industry standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
  • Familiarity with food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as needed
