About the Role

A senior-level Systems Engineer – Avionics is sought to lead the definition, integration, and certification of advanced avionics architectures for hybrid eVTOL aircraft.

This role carries end-to-end responsibility for the development of mission-critical avionics systems, including navigation, communications, flight displays, sensors, and vehicle management systems. Working across hardware, software, and systems domains, you will deliver safe, reliable, and certifiable avionics solutions within a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define avionics system requirements and interface control documents aligned with vehicle-level functions and safety objectives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support flight deck layout, human-machine interface (HMI), and pilot operational needs

  • Oversee integration of avionics hardware and software, ensuring redundancy, fault tolerance, and robust system behaviour

  • Manage supplier selection, technical oversight, and compliance with DO-254, DO-178C, and applicable aerospace standards

  • Support functional safety activities, including FHA, FMEA, and FTA at system and subsystem levels

  • Lead avionics integration activities in laboratory, ground test, and flight test environments, troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues

  • Contribute to certification planning and regulatory compliance with FAA, EASA, and/or TCCA, including documentation and audits

  • Act as a technical integrator between engineering teams and project management

  • Apply and enforce engineering standards, ensuring rigor, quality, schedule adherence, and budget alignment

  • Challenge existing approaches and introduce improvements to engineering quality, productivity, and delivery

  • Stay current with advancements in avionics systems, certification practices, and aerospace technologies

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and system reliability

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in avionics or systems engineering within aerospace or automotive environments

  • Demonstrated experience across multiple phases of the product lifecycle (concept, development, integration, verification, certification)

  • Strong background in avionics architectures, system integration, and safety-critical systems

  • Hands-on experience with systems engineering practices is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with eVTOL certification frameworks (FAA, EASA, TCCA)

  • Proven ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

What is Offered

  • Competitive senior-level compensation

  • No fixed holiday cap

  • Competitive group benefits plan

  • Company stock purchase program

  • Hybrid working options

  • Opportunity to work on next-generation aerospace and eVTOL platforms
