As a security professional, you'll contribute to the safety and security of students, staff, and stakeholders by enforcing provincial and municipal regulations, enforcing college policies and procedures, by monitoring CCTV systems and operating security control room equipment, controlling access to site, reporting any hazards or security breaches, and responding to incidents.Requirements:Minimum 1 year of security experience, preferably in a Healthcare, Mall/Retail, Campus, Corporate/Commercial & Gov't environment.Tactical Security Experience and/or a diploma in the field of security or law enforcement (such as Police Foundation) is an assetValid Ontario Security LicenseStandard First Aid & Level C CPR with AEDExcellent communication skillsHave a valid Ontario Drivers License (either G2/G) & have access to a personal vehicleMust be able to commute within the Barrie, Orillia and/or SimcoeComfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV softwareApproaches a situation with a listening mindset and empathyExperiencing with de-escalating conflicts and responding to security incident call whether medical, fire alarm, crisis intervention, etc.Capable of standing and walking for a duration of up to 12 hoursAbility to problem solve, effective with crowd management and use discretion and good judgmentUse of force training and/or Military/Law Enforcement background is an asset.Having a clean drivers absent is an assetHaving a smart serve certification is an assetShares and adheres to our values - REACH (Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy and Honesty)Pay rate: $21.03 to $23.11 (based on experience/qualifications)What we offer:Award-Winning Corporate Culture - winners of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Culture 2021 & 2024Extensive TrainingExtended Health BenefitsPaid TrainingRecognition Programs & EventsWe are committed to building an environment of respect and personal growth for all our staff.
