Additional Information The Community, Education, and Wellness Studies department is currently accepting resumes for a full-time regularized faculty position to join a team of educators committed to excellence, collaboration, diversity, and learner-centered education and teach across the Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) Certificate and Interprofessional Mental Health and Addictions (IMHA) Diploma Programs.
The MHA program is a -month certificate program, and the IMHA program is a -month graduate diploma program. Both programs prepare graduates to work collaboratively as part of interprofessional teams, supporting a diverse range of individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.The curricula for both programs are informed by contemporary research and grounded in principles of collaboration, social justice, strength-based and trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, and psychosocial rehabilitation. Graduates are prepared with the knowledge and skills to support individuals experiencing acute and persistent mental health and substance use challenges.The successful candidate will be qualified to teach in both programs and will demonstrate the ability to support learners from diverse educational and professional backgrounds in inclusive, student-centred learning environments across online, blended, and face-to-face delivery formats. Qualifications · Master’s Degree with a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or related discipline· Minimum of five years’ experience working frontline on a mental health and/or substance use service team· Minimum of one year’s experience teaching adults in a post-secondary setting· Experience decolonizing curriculum and pedagogy· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Capabilities The core capabilities are required for all positions at the college.
