Join the Team as an Automatic Door Installer
Are you a hands-on installer with strong mechanical and technical skills and experience working on commercial construction sites?
Our client is looking for an Automatic Door Installer to support the installation of pedestrian automatic and revolving door systems in high-traffic commercial environments such as hospitals, airports, malls, and institutional facilities across Edmonton, Alberta.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precise installation, safety compliance, and delivering high-quality work that directly impacts accessibility and building performance.
What You'll Do
Installation & Commissioning
Install automatic sliding, swinging, and revolving door systems according to manufacturer specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
Mechanical & Electrical Setup
Perform mechanical assembly, wiring, sensor alignment, and control setup to ensure proper operation and code compliance.
Site Coordination
Work on active commercial and construction sites, coordinating with project managers, contractors, and other trades to meet timelines and quality expectations.
Testing & Adjustments
Test installed systems, perform final adjustments, and ensure doors operate safely, smoothly, and reliably prior to turnover.
Documentation & Handover
Complete installation documentation and support client walkthroughs or commissioning requirements as needed.
What We're Looking For
Experience
Proven experience installing pedestrian automatic door systems in commercial or institutional environments.
Technical Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical components, sensors, operators, and control systems. Ability to read drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
Safety & Compliance
Strong awareness of jobsite safety protocols and accessibility standards, particularly in high-traffic or secure environments.
Efficiency & Reliability
Able to manage installation tasks independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Professional Communication
Comfortable interacting with site supervisors, contractors, and end users in a professional manner.
Certifications
AAADM certification required or willingness to obtain. Electrical, automation, or metal fabrication experience is considered a strong asset.
Requirements
Clean criminal background check
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Legal authorization to work in Canada
