Senior Instructional Designer
Location: Fraser Valley, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 13-Month Contract
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Change Management and Training team supporting a major enterprise technology transformation.
The Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Project is replacing three legacy distribution control systems with GE Vernova's Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). As part of this transformation, business processes will be reviewed and optimized while improving the quality of critical operational data. The Change Management and Training Team plays a key role in ensuring employees are prepared for the transition by developing and delivering training that drives stakeholder awareness, readiness, and adoption.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and project teams to gather and validate training requirements and organizational context.
- Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning solutions, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, videos, trainer guides, and other supporting resources.
- Apply established instructional design methodologies, templates, and standards to produce high-quality learning content.
- Develop in-system training exercises to support instructor-led learning.
- Support the development of business trainers and facilitate Train-the-Trainer sessions.
- Work closely with Change Management and Training teams to support stakeholder readiness and successful adoption of new systems and processes.
- Review and update training materials based on stakeholder feedback and evolving project requirements.
- Contribute to change management initiatives that support large-scale technology transformation projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in change management, instructional design, training development, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with instructional design software and eLearning development tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong instructional design experience developing both instructor-led and online learning programs.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn technical concepts and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable presenting to groups and facilitating training sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- PROSCI Certification.
- Certificate or Diploma in Instructional Design or Adult Education.
- Experience supporting enterprise technology implementation projects.
- Experience with distribution control systems or utility operations.
- Experience working within large, complex organizations.
