AECOM Buildings Place is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to help lead buildings projects (commercial institutional light industrial facilities such as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Sewage Lift Stations) This position can be based out of Markham / Thornhill office with opportunities for hybrid work. Some travel to nearby cities may be required. This role offers opportunities for career growth.
AECOM Buildings Places Canada (BP Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture all the buildings engineering disciplines landscape architecture urban planning urban design economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include although not limited to : Municipal Commercial Institutional projects Justice Education and Government.
Major Responsibilities :
- Mechanical Project Lead responsible for design and construction administration.
- Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design co-ordinate with all disciplines.
- Design HVAC Controls Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
- Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (Carrier HAP).
- Perform calculations conduct design drawing reviews and field investigations.
- Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.
- Write / edit mechanical specifications.
- Travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports. Some out-of-town travel expected.
- Must participate in business development and writing proposals.
- Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical audience
- Working knowledge of the LEED rating system or other green rating systems.
- Provide guidance to younger engineers.
