Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client's (Toronto Downtown) and/or downtown Toronto office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
UI Automation: Design and maintain robust automated test scripts for web applications using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Focus on cross-browser compatibility and responsive design validation.
API Testing: Develop automated functional, integration, and contract tests for RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, Parasoft
Framework Architecture: Contribute to the evolution of our automation frameworks, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects. Work closely with Developers and Product Managers to prioritize fixes and verify resolutions.
Shift-Left Strategy: Participate in design and sprint planning sessions to identify potential quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
Performance & Security: Assist in basic load testing and security vulnerability scanning at both the UI and API levels.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Technical Requirements
Languages
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.
UI Testing
Experience with Playwright, or Selenium Webdriver.
API Testing
Deep understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON/XML. Tools: Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.
CI/CD
Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Database
Ability to write SQL queries to validate data integrity.
Version Control
Mastery of Git (branching, merging, pull requests).
