Job descriptionMaintains and repairs all buses, vehicles, grounds equipment and generators. Maintains preventative maintenance program according to Ministry of Transportation requirements. Installs, maintains and repairs alternate fuel systems. Orders parts, equipment, tools and supplies. Road tests vehicles. Operates tools and equipment of the trade. Respond to emergency situations as requested. Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle. Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification. Completion of Grade 12. Apprenticeship and / or Trades Qualification Certificate (Commercial Transport Vehicle Repairs or Automotive Mechanical Repairs). Class 3 B.C. Driver's License, including Air Brake endorsement One-year related experience. Ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance of district vehicles, equipment and generators. Thorough and current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools and equipment of the trade. Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information. Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures. Physical ability to perform the required duties Resume Email addresses for a minimum of three references (ideally, former supervisors from your most recent / relevant role) Proof of completion of Grade 12 / graduation from high school (or completion of other post-secondary education) Scanned copy of your valid BC Driver’s license Recent copy of your driver’s abstract / history (obtained from ICBC) Copies of any relevant post-secondary certificates.

Reports to the Mechanic Foreman and maintains and repairs buses, vehicles, grounds equipment and generators.

- Hours - Monday to Friday (7 : 30am to 4 : 00pm)
