Schedule: Monday- Friday 3:30pm-12am

Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour

Job Summary

This role is responsible for high‑reliability hand soldering, rework, and repair of electronic assemblies built to IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 standards. Working at a dedicated on‑site workstation, you will support critical production and repair activities on complex electronic products where quality, precision, and timing are essential. This is a highly hands‑on role that directly impacts production flow and product reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hand soldering, rework, and repair of electronic assemblies to IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 standards at a dedicated workstation
  • Rework and repair surface‑mount (SMT) and through‑hole components with a focus on reliability and workmanship
  • Support a mix of new builds, rework, and refurbishment activities based on production and repair demand
  • Follow assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, travelers, and work instructions to complete tasks accurately
  • Estimate and manage build and repair times with a high level of precision to support production schedules and prevent backlogs
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies using visual inspection and magnification to ensure compliance with Class 3 and internal quality standards
  • Safely and effectively use soldering equipment, hand tools, and microscopes to complete fine‑pitch and precision work
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and complete required documentation in accordance with site procedures
  • Collaborate with team members, quality, and support staff to resolve technical issues and continuously improve soldering quality and efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of hands‑on IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 soldering experience
  • Proven experience with hand soldering and electronic rework
  • Experience soldering SMT and through‑hole components
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic assembly drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Strong understanding of high‑reliability workmanship requirements for Class 3 electronics
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and precision
  • Ability to work independently at a station while meeting strict quality and productivity standards
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet production targets without compromising quality
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance

Additional Skills

  • Experience with electronic rework and refurbishment (beyond new builds)
  • Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 inspection standards
  • Background in mechanical assembly
  • Experience with XY coating or conformal coating
  • Previous exposure to defense, aerospace, or high‑reliability electronics
  • Comfort working on a quieter shift with minimal supervision

Why Join This Team?

  • Gain hands‑on experience working on defense‑related, high‑reliability electronics applicable across many technology and manufacturing organizations
  • Stable Monday–Friday, 8‑hour afternoon shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM) with minimal meetings and interruptions
  • Long‑term opportunity with the intent to convert to permanent
  • Free parking and public transit‑accessible worksite
  • Supportive, diverse team with long tenure and a positive work culture

Work Environment

This is a 100% on‑site role in a modern electronics manufacturing facility with an expanding production floor and new equipment. Soldering is performed at dedicated stations with the option to sit or stand. The afternoon shift offers a quieter environment that supports focused, uninterrupted work. The team environment is collaborative and respectful, with a strong emphasis on quality and reliability.
