Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Job Description

This role is for an experienced Industrial or Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician who specializes in automation, robotics, and CNC machinery. You will troubleshoot, repair, and improve complex electrical and control systems, with a focus on Fanuc robotics and CNC machines, while leading continuous improvement and new control system application projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control issues on CNC machines, robotics, and automation equipment.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and modifications on Fanuc robotics and CNC machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Continuously improve hardware and robot program applications for CNC, PLC, PC, motion control, and automation vision systems.
  • Develop, implement, and manage new control system application projects from concept through to completion.
  • Provide asset operations support on special projects, including troubleshooting, problem solving, and programming.
  • Use programming devices to troubleshoot and modify PLC, CNC, and robot programs as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Build and modify control panels and perform basic and advanced wiring work in accordance with electrical codes.
  • Work with a wide variety of sensors, vision systems, and measuring systems to maintain and optimize equipment performance.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of electric circuitry, including relays, PC, CNC and PLC logic, drives, panel mates, press and weld controls.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Support production by responding promptly to breakdowns and minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Adapt to new systems and technologies introduced within the department and across the company.
  • Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdowns as required, and provide flexibility to cover all three shifts when needed.
Essential Skills
  • Valid 442A (preferred) or 309A Electrician’s license with strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of related automation and robotics experience in programming.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting CNC machines in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electric circuitry, including relays, PC, CNC and PLC logic, drives, panel mates, press and weld controls.
  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc robotics and Fanuc iRVision.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting skills with systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Omron, and Delta controls.
  • Ability to use programming devices to troubleshoot and modify automation, PLC, CNC, and robot programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in basic wiring and control panel building in an industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of the English language for documentation, communication, and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions under time pressure.
  • Flexibility to work afternoons and to cover other shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Completion of a minimum two-year degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent accredited program.
  • Experience with AutoCAD for reviewing and updating electrical and control system drawings.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of sensor methodologies and measuring systems, including LVDT and other vision and measurement technologies.
  • Experience with automation vision systems and integration with robotics and CNC equipment.
  • Openness to learning and working with new systems and technologies introduced within the department and company.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills in complex automation environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
  • Comfort working in tight spaces and loud industrial environments.
  • Note: Background focused exclusively on sustainable energy systems or only conveyor experience is not well aligned with this role’s requirements.

Work Environment

This position primarily operates on the afternoon shift from 3:00 . to 11:00 ., Monday to Friday, with the expectation of overtime as needed. You must be able to work weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdowns when required, and be flexible to cover all three shifts if necessary. The work takes place in a tight, loud, and very fast-paced manufacturing environment with high-speed automated equipment, CNC machines, and industrial robots. You will work with a range of technologies, including Fanuc robotics, CNC machinery, PLC systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Omron, Delta), vision systems, AutoCAD, and various sensor and measuring devices. The role requires adherence to strict safety practices, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and comfort working in an industrial setting with noise, confined areas, and production-driven priorities.

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $48.00/hr.
