MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for a 1-year contract with one of BC’s largest electrical and utilities providers . This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading company in the sector, contributing to impactful and large-scale projects. The role is based in Burnaby, BC , with a blend of in-office and site-based responsibilities.
Responsibilities :
Provide electrical engineering support across various projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for utility operations, including transmission lines and substations.
Develop engineering deliverables, such as design reports, proposals, specifications, and calculations.
Provide technical guidance and support from conceptual design through to testing and commissioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination and project execution.
Conduct field reviews and offer on-site construction support to ensure design compliance.
Resolve complex engineering issues and help ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Requirements : Must haves :
A minimum of 4 years of progressive and comprehensive engineering experience
University graduate in applied science or engineering
Must possess a P.Eng designation and be able to obtain a permit to practice on offer
Class 5 drivers license required
Excellent communication skills, including writing
Must be able to come to office Nice to haves :
Previous experience with a utility
Experience with telecom and / or protection and control projects
Experience with transmission lines projects
Able to understand the interactions and priorities required to deliver multi-discipline projects
