Position Overview:
Seeking a highly capable, energetic, and experienced Housekeeper for a semi formal residence located in Toronto. The successful applicant will take full ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and smoothly run home. This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, anticipates needs, and can manage household responsibilities with minimal responsibilities. This position is full-time, live-out. Work hours are generally between 9am – 5pm with some flexibility required.
Candidate Profile:
You are an experienced and knowledgeable housekeeping professional with excellent housekeeping and laundry skills who enjoys keeping a clean and organized home. You know how to handle and care for high-end finishes, furnishings. You communicate well and are comfortable working independently. You understand a home is a living environment, not just a workplace, and can easily adjust your daily schedule to accommodate activities in the residence.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Daily housekeeping to include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom cleaning; maintaining the home to a high consistent high standard of cleanliness
● Care of fine furnishings, fixtures, fabrics, finishes, and surfaces
● Perform regular, seasonal cleaning as necessary
● Maintain household inventory of cleaning supplies
● Manage all laundry, including washing, folding, ironing (occasionally) and proper garment care; noting garments requiring repair to principals
● Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and household supply restocking
● Help with special tasks as required
● Put out trash and recycling weekly
● Ensure household security protocols are followed
● Answering the door, receiving packages, overseeing tradespeople, and walking the dog as needed
● Monitoring the property while the principals are away
Applicant Qualities:
● Previous experience in a similar housekeeping role
● A valid driver’s license is required; consistent access to a vehicle is an asset for running errands independently
● Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentation
● Detail oriented high personal standards, and comfortable working in a home with a dog
● Organized, efficient, and proactive
● Ability to problem-solve and take initiative without constant direction
● Comfort and experience cooking is considered an asset
● Must be comfortable lifting 30 pounds and physically capable of performing the listed duties
● Excellent housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
● Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries
● Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
