Job description

Venor is proud to partner with East Coast Credit Union in their search for a Branch Manager for their newest location in West Bedford.

About East Coast Credit Union

At East Coast Credit Union, we’re committed to a community-driven approach to banking. As Nova Scotia’s largest credit union, we offer a cooperative ownership model focused on the well-being of our members, not profit. Our mission is to provide honest lending, savings, and investment products, while building strong relationships within our communities. We pride ourselves on our dedication to community engagements, member satisfaction, and financial excellence.

Job summary

As Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing branch operations, driving business development, and leading a team committed to delivering a superior member experience. You’ll play a pivotal role in growing the branch’s business, building strong relationships with the community, and ensuring the delivery of financial services that meet the evolving needs of our members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellence.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow membership and engage with the local community.
  • Monitor and manage branch performance, ensuring key metrics such as member satisfaction, productivity, and retention are met.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including lending, deposit functions, and adherence to audit and security standards.
  • Drive the implementation of the Credit Union’s digital strategy and other initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior Leadership to manage the branch’s budget and staffing requirements.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of leadership experience in a financial institution or equivalent. You have a proven track record in managing branch operations, business development, and lending services, and experience opening a new branch would be an asset. You are highly skilled in financial products, lending, risk management and bring excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. You are capable of managing operations effectively while building strong relationships with both your team and community stakeholders.

At Venor and East Coast Credit Union, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, what you believe in, or who you love, we welcome your application. We all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life, bringing in unique perspectives and experiences. We encourage applications from 2SLGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), women, newcomers to Canada, and people with disabilities.
