Job Description
What is the opportunity?Work within a team at the Royal Bank of Canada responsible for overseeing project design and delivery of Electrical and Mechanical systems at the Enterprise Data Centres. The position supports management and technical support of the Critical Environment systems that are integral to the successful operation of the Data Centres with optimal ‘uptime’.What will you do?Design and integrate electrical & mechanical engineered systems across critical environments portfolio.
Deliver resilient, compliant, and operationally aligned systems throughout the project lifecycle.
Design and delivery validation (commissioning) and documentation turnover ensuring operational resiliency, system optimization and sustainability objectives are achieved.
Enforce design, construction, and commissioning standards in accordance with internal protocols, external codes, and industry best practices.
Identify and implement strategies for integration, testing procedures, and system lifecycle management to reduce risks and optimize performance.
Support a team of specialists, fostering a high-performance, technically curious, and collaborative culture.
Develop engineering standards to maintain compliance with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction and evolving technology within the industry.
Assembling of complete, accurate, and accessible as-built documentation, O&M manuals, system diagrams, and integration records.
Analyze historical data and trends of equipment to identify root-cause of equipment failures and recommend improvements.
Professional Engineer with a strong understanding of local code
Proven background in design and construction delivery
Strong communication skills
Strong engineering and analytical skills
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word and Excel
Strong work ethic and ability to work without direct supervision
Previous experience in a Data Centre environment
Experience working with complex mechanical engineering systems, including Cooling Plants.
Experience working with or complex electrical engineering systems, including Uniteruptable Power Systems (UPS) and electrical Generation Plants.
