Job description

Position Description:

We are seeking a Salesforce Developer with 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience, including strong expertise in Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools such as Flow Builder.

This role focuses on optimizing and modernizing an existing Salesforce environment, particularly for Planning and Forecasting capabilities, by reducing technical debt and promoting scalable, cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate of out-of-the-box functionality over custom development and can guide stakeholders toward sustainable platform decisions.

Eligible locations: Halifax, NS / St. John's, NL / Fredericton or Moncton, NB / Stratford, PEI
Work model: Hybrid – 2/3 days per week onsite

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Refactor and simplify complex Apex classes, triggers, and Lightning Web Components into efficient, maintainable solutions.
• Champion the use of Salesforce declarative tools such as Flow Builder, validation rules, and platform configurations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to challenge requirements and promote standard Salesforce capabilities over custom builds.
• Establish and enforce governance, coding standards, and best practices to ensure long-term platform health.
• Identify and decommission redundant custom objects, fields, and legacy code to reduce technical debt.
• Manage the Salesforce release lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, sandbox strategies, and deployments.
• Analyze, maintain, and enhance Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud implementations.
• Design and support integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and Platform Events.
• Drive continuous improvement of system architecture for scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience on the Salesforce platform.
• Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce declarative automation, especially Flow Builder.
• Deep understanding of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud core objects and business processes.
• Experience with Salesforce integration patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs and Platform Events.
• Experience managing Salesforce deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
• Strong understanding of platform governance, best practices, and technical debt reduction.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,–$,. This role is a existing vacancy.
